 | Dr Schim graduated cum laude from the University of Miami, with a
B.A. in Psychology. Prior to medical school, he earned an M.F.A. in Studio Art
in ceramics and photography at the University of Miami. |
| He earned his M.D. at U.C. San Diego Medical School, and served as a
medical intern at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles. |
| In 1985, he completed his neurology residency at UCSD, with special
emphasis on EMG and neuromuscular disease. |
| He is Chair of the Division of Neuroscience at Scripps
Hospital, Encinitas, prior Chair of the Division of
Neuroscience at Scripps Hospital, La Jolla, and is
former President of the San Diego Neurologic
Society. |
| He is past- President of the Association of California Neurologists,
past President of the American Heart Association San Diego
chapter, past President of the San Diego Stroke Council, and is a member of the
Medicare Carrier Advisory Board for California. |
| He is a member of the
American Academy of Neurology, the American Headache Society, the
American Society for Neurorehabilitation, and of the American Society of Neuroimaging.

| Dr. Schim is Board certified in Neurology and holds an
appointment as voluntary Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at UCSD. |
| Dr Schim has been in practice in North County since
1985. He has special interests in stroke prevention, acute
stroke intervention, and headache management. He has been
involved in Neurologic
Rehabilitation since 1987. |
| He has been treating with Botox since 1989 for a wide
variety of disorders, including dystonia, spasticity, facial
spasms, migraine, hyperhidrosis, and pain. |
| Presently, the majority of his outpatient practice is in
the areas of headache care and pain management. |
| When not involved in patient care, he is an avid surfer, cyclist and photographer. |
